After starting Carnell Tate (9 pts) over Jameson Williams (26 pts) this week, I thought I was screwed against in the Game of the Week versus the wagon that is Jack’s On-Call Killers, who just refused to go away, quickly deleting the lead I had amassed from TNF, and then built a lead of their own, going up 43 points into the afternoon games. But the middling Ashton Jeanty was good for 18 points and McJesus performed yet another miracle, hanging 29 points on the Killers, and stealing one from him, to give the Oarling Haaland Boat Club their 5th consecutive win and the top record in the league. Don’t look now but your reigning champion Commissioner is quietly building themselves up to championship form, scoring 120 PPG over the last four weeks (2nd best in the league), with the 5th best all-play record on the season at 71-48.

Luckily for the Doc, fellow X-Iowan Jesse would also snap their streak this week, though in sadder fashion, scoring the fewest points by any team this week and losing a truly winnable affair 58-75 against Qualley. Jesse falls to 5-2, and remains in a tie for division lead in X-IA. Qualley climbs to 4-3 despite his 48-71 all-play record, and keeps himself competitive in Papa Jord’s.

While there were a couple absolute poundings this weekend: Joe’s runaway freight train doubling up on Brady, who did indeed Like It That Way, 146-71; and Clay whooping Hunt’s pretender team 107-60, they were quite a few nailbiters. Ewoldt and the Devil’s Duo slipped one past TC’s Odyssey behind 33 from JSN, winning 117-113. Both teams move to 4-3 and are now a game back in their divisions. Despite, 27 from Bucky Irving, 22 from Omar Copper Jr. (who is that?) and 21 from War Daddy, Jord would still lose to the real Daddy 109-110, who got clapped on by Tony Pollard’s 37 bomb. Daddy remains in a first place tie in Papa Jord’s at 5-2 with Scallon, who casually won his 4th consecutive game this week. Do I even need to say who Scallon beat at this point? I do. It was Drew. Drew lost again. LOL. That’s 5 straight losses. 1-6 record. LOL. Jord falls to 2-5 despite his recent surge in points. Then there was Nick and Austin, who battled it out in MNF, with the former coming out on top 90-87. Nick moves to 3-4 as Austin falls to 2-5.

And that’s a wrap on week 7, officially completing first half of the regular season, which has seemingly flown by. We’ll commence the second half of the season with Rivalry Week! Stay tuned for the matchup breakdowns.

X-IA flounders a bit, allowing PJ and CdS to make up some ground.

A tough week for pick ‘em, as only Chris gets more than one right.
