Championship Playoff Bracket

Playoffs.png

A pair of blowouts in the championship bracket this week, as both wildcard teams are eliminated, and it becomes a tournament of the four division winners, which is an IFL first.

Nelson's 122.82 - 72.56 victory over Nick was not unexpected, as our pickers heavily favored Nelson, and he was statistically the better team. Nick suffered two goose eggs via his kicker and tight end, and mediocre performances all-around, with only one player getting to 15 pts. Nelson had a sacrificial performance from Wentz, whose 27.24 pts are the last he'll be able to give Nelson after his ACL tear. Congrats on making this far, Nick. That 2nd ring will have to wait. Nelson will move on to face the Big Bad, Jackson's Bellhops in the semi's.

Ewolt's victory over Curtis; however, was truly bizarre, not just in the victory, but in the way he was victorious. Curtis's hand began to tell early after Kamara left the Thursday night game with a concussion, earning only 5.7 pts of his usual 21 per game. Despite a 25 pt game from Landry, Curtis had 6 players score less than 6 points, and the Mexi Turbo's 76.02 pts were a season-low. Not the time to deuce the bed. Ewoldt, meanwhile had season highs from Stewart and Riddick (28.30 and 27.30 games respectively) and a 26.58 pt game from Dak to put up a season-high 154.32 point game. Wildly, Ewoldt traded Tyreek to Curtis and dropped Kamara after drafting him; which were two of the reasons Curtis even got to this position in the first place. Those moves and their subsequent 17.88 combined points in this playoff game are some Walter White level maneuvers from Ewoldt. Deuce's to Curtis ✌️, you made yet another wildly interesting run. Ewoldt will move on to play the hottest team in the league - the Flaming Red Hot Gingers in the next round.

Consolation Playoff Bracket

The Birds of WAR go ham in the consolations, preventing Jesse from those sweet draft odd bonuses for the first time since they've been implemented, winning 131.38 - 85.58. Jordan will play Drew this week, which should be a great matchup, statistically speaking.

Our only close game this week, was decided right at the very last minute, with Joe holding Brady's nuts just inches away, 109.42 - 108.60. Joe will move on to face the Scallon Express, who quietly put up a league high for the season 175.64 pts in his bye. WOW.

tournament to not be last

(1) Kelce if you can (6-8) 102.80 pts
vs
(4) Dirty Mike and the Boys (2-12)
96.86 pts

(2) Hyrule's Last Hope (6-8) 125.94 pts
vs
(3) For Folks Sake (4-10)
95.24 pts

Brat10 and Chris win, which means our the Tournament to Not Be Last comes down to Hunt and TC. What a miserable pair.

Last Place Game:
(3) For Folks Sake (4-10) vs (4) Dirty Mike and the Boys (2-12)

Super Consolation Championship:
(1) Kelce if you can (6-8) vs (2) Hyrule's Last Hope (6-8)

If you've ever seen Silver Linings Playbook, then you'll recall the parlay bet De Niro makes where Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have to score above mediocre in a local dance competition, and the Eagles must beat the Cowboys, both of which were extremely unlikely in that movie's world, and yet they both come to fruition somehow. That bet has nothing on the stunt Ewoldt has pulled in Pick 'Em the last two weeks. 6 perfect picks in a row in back-to-back weeks, earning him 10 points (thanks to the bonuses), and moving him from 12th place to 5th. Unreal. Nick meanwhile falters as Curtis and Chris take advantage, to move on top.
