Week 6 was a defense wins championships type week, with the average team score being 93.9 points, a full 12.3 points lower than the season average through 5 weeks. Only 5 teams surpassed 100 points this week, and not surprisingly, they all won.

That was true for Jesse’s Meet My Kids, who easily brushed off Daddy and the Rehm Team this week 108-77. Daddy’s team has been the most volatile in the league, currently sitting at league high standard deviation of 30 points, you just truly can’t predict what his team is going to bring to the table each week, and weirdly, I think that’s how he probably likes it. Despite the loss, he remains 4-2 on the season and in a share of the lead of Papa Jord’s. For Jesse’s part, his team just stays winning, with this being the 4th win in a row, and he now has the #1 all-play record in the league at 69-33. He’s also the most consistent team in the league with SD of just 9 points. He climbs to 5-1 and remains in a share of the lead in X-IA. This is Jesse’s best start since his 3-2-1 Spike! days, back in 2019, when he when 6-0 to start the season, but sputtered out, and finished 9-6. But looking at that team that was only 6th in all-play and 6th in scoring, I’d be more worried about his current iteration.

Elsewhere in X-IA, Jack would also climb to 5-1, performing on Joe what they in the business call “a routine medical exam”, but also one where Joe feels quite violated and wondering if was just happened was “medically necessary”. Jack would win 139-94 behind four 20+ point performances, scoring the most in the league by an 19 point margin. With TC faltering this week, it is now Jack’s On-Call Killers that is our league’s highest scoring team at 115 PPG, which is nearly 12 points above the league average for the season. Joe, who finally got his QB Caleb Williams back, did have one hand tied behind his back with Gibbs on bye; however, and despite his 2-4 record, I really wouldn’t be worried about him.

Speaking of TC, he had another down week, and fell out of the one-loss team club, losing this week to Chris 82-88. It’s a big win for Chris, who did so without his MVP Amon-Ra St. Brown, and gets back to .500 on the season.

Despite a 10-0 vote for Hunt this week in pick ‘em, which may be a record one-sided vote, Nelson would win 96-89, behind another monster game from Kenneth Walker, who is currently RB2 on the season by the way. Nelson climbs to 4-2, and has the 3rd best all-play record in the league, and remains just a game back in X-IA, which is shaping up to be a monster division. Unfortunately for Hunt, despite his two-week running #1 power-rank, he falls to 1-5 on the season, which is going to be hard to overcome from a playoff standpoint; however, if he can rehabilitate his PPG, there’s always a path there.

Before I leave you this week, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the most hilarious outcome of the season, Qualley beating Drew 89.98 - 88.37. For Qualley, he climbs to 3-3 and is now just a game back in Papa Jord’s, so hats off to him for staying the mix. For Drew, his 1-5 record is his worst start since his 2020 0-6 campaign. And it’s extra hilarious because he inexplicably started some guy named Cyrus Allen, who played just 9 snaps this week, and he would have won had he just started Chris Godwin, like any non-idiotic person would have. Classic.

X-IA continues to separate themselves as the dominate division, as the CdS falls further behind.

Jack has the best week of the bunch, but it’s status quo at the top.
